Energized.....

I"m now learning a new beading technique with chinese knots. Emmmm very challenging...getting so confused.....left string to right or right to left...below or top .......can never get the first time right!
Well, getting the hang of it. Yes, its showing some progress. Slowly but surely beginning to see a piece of necklace. But having to tie and untie too many times ( cos unsure of the steps) have made the beautiful pink string to a slight off colour....u know what i mean. Will show of the pics when ready!

Sometimes you are just not in the mood to pick up your unfinished piece.....emm need lots of inspiration and motivation to do so...
Must try to complete this piece by hook by crook before the coming Ramadhan...must finish it.
I recently visited a boutique that carries beautiful and very elegant pieces that can be worn on formal and non so formal occasions. Looking around, I suddenly thought that it would be good to complement these pieces with nice accessories. I wondered for awhile and said to myself..can my pieces be showcased in this boutique???? Well my pearl coloured crochet piece should go well with the piece of long dress that I tried on. So I made an offer to the boutique owner if she'd be kind enough to look at my beaded pieces. And yes, she is. So now I am more motivated to complete my piece, create nice and outstanding pieces......to be presented to this boutique.

Hi, good to be back after a long break. Currently still trying to finish up a necklace using the crochet technique. I learned many mistakes from this piece. Never use the same shade of color thread for your beads....... Crochet technique can be very tiring for your precious eyes, so do rememeber this tips. Having used the same shade of color thread and beads myself, many times, I became frustrated each time I drop a stitch and losing count on my beads on each row. Thats why I am still holding on to my unfinished piece for almost 3 months. To abort this piece I thought is really wasteful, but each time I picked it up to continue, I become discourage my the thought of straining my poor eyes.

Tips on beadings

Beading is addictive. Once you start on a new project, you can just go on and on. So eager to see the finished work, that the color combination blends with the different color beads. However, its good to do careful planning before you actually start on a new project. I've learned from the many mistakes in my earlier projects of not doing the initial trial and errors, in trying to blend the matching color beads and the correct size. Its always good to just start with a reasonable length whereby you are able to see the pattern forming. Only when you are comfortable with the color combination, should you then continue or to abort and start all over again with a different color combination. Well, thats how I always start on a project. Sometimes, it takes a few trials to come out with one that I like. Of course, the next thing to do is to consult your beading friends for their opinion!

Sometimes its very difficult in trying to match different colors of beads to start a project. I like to look at things around me, and see how two or three colors blend or contrast each other. Although sometimes the colors can be very contrasting, but surprisingly the end result of the piece turn out beautifully. Usually I try to choose earth colors as they are easy to match, warm and gives the feelings of calmness.

My Favourite Piece

I'd like to share with you the picture of my favorite piece. Made from various sizes of Japanese beads in different shades of green makes a beautiful masterpiece. Took me a week to complete this piece, and each time I thread together the beads, I could visualize the beauty. Truly satisfying!

Beads can be used in wiring work to come up with beautiful costume jeweleries or home acesories like lampshades and candle holders.
